This is me, on my 44th birthday. I'm not usually dressed like this, though, sometimes I wish that I led a life that required that...

Me, now? Usually sweats and sneakers because I haven't had time to change from the gym before I have to be somewhere else. Or because I'm off to a soccer field or baseball park with a child or two of mine.

I love to take pictures, and my favorite subjects are my kids... but because I love to be outside, I also love to take pictures of things I find there, too.  I also love to write because it helps me to organize and explore my thoughts and myself. Hence, Blessed Moon.

I am married and have three children (two dogs, a lizard, several fish, and at any given time, random rescued reptiles and an occasional run-away mammal).  I must warn you, though, you might not see a lot of them here. While I love my family fiercely, I finally figured out that I need to preserve me for them. I was getting lost in their lives.  I started this because I needed a place for me in life. So this is it. This is my little patch of life. That being said, how do I not write about the most important things in my life? So I do, just carefully.

I take risks when I write, so hope you will trust me as I trust you. Trust that I don't ever mean to be offensive or insensitive; I have a funny (as in strange) sense of humor and I worry that what I say doesn't always come out as I intend. Isn't that every writer's dilema? I strive to stay true to how I see it and how I feel it... I bare it all; no holds barred here (oh, yeah... I like MMA, too!). You should try it (being authentic, not MMA!)- not only writing in the raw, but living that way, too. It's liberating

Oh... and the other stuff? Like, what do I do for a living? What's truly important to me? What defines me? That's all here, in the journal. It'll be leaked out slowly, and maybe faster than that on some days.

Thanks for visiting; let me know you were here. And come back soon. I enjoy company!
